The holidays feel even more meaningful when we use our time and energy to brighten someone else’s season. At VERVE Columbus, we make giving back simple, social, and fun — using our shared spaces as the hub for community impact.

Angel Tree Donations

Organizations like the Salvation Army of Central Ohio host Angel Tree programs where you can “adopt” a child and fulfill a holiday wish.

Residents can gather in our lounges or study rooms to wrap gifts, plan donations, or host a festive wrapping party with neighbors — complete with music, cocoa, and good vibes.

Write Cards for Senior Neighbors

Senior living communities across Columbus — such as Wesley Glen, Mayfair Village, and Friendship Village — truly appreciate receiving handwritten cards during the holidays.

Settle into our clubhouse tables with friends, bring your favorite craft supplies, or use the community printer to create card templates. A cozy card-writing night at VERVE Columbus can brighten the season for seniors right here in our city.

Donate Toys to Local Children’s Hospitals

Nationwide Children’s Hospital accepts new toys, crafts, comfort items, and games for pediatric patients throughout the holiday season.

Use our lobby or package room to collect donations building-wide, or organize a mini toy drive with your floor, your roommates, or your favorite student org.

Support Local Food Pantries

Columbus organizations like the Mid-Ohio Food Collective, Open Shelter, and Columbus Urban League accept non-perishable food, hygiene products, and winter essentials.

Invite friends to the community kitchen or lounge for a donation-sorting night, or turn your next movie night into a “Bring-a-Can” holiday hangout.
